Every Buildly site starts with a conversation. You tell Juno, Buildly’s assistant, about your business, and Buildly turns your answers into a complete first draft: pages written, photographs chosen, and your contact details in place. This article walks through what happens from the first question to the finished draft.
Who can start a new site
Starting a site is something an Owner or an Admin of your organization can do. Editors and Viewers can work on a site once it exists, but they cannot start a new one. See Owner, Admin, Editor, and Viewer for the full list.
Typing or talking
The interview opens as a typed chat. If you would rather speak, choose Talk instead and answer out loud. Both are the same interview, so you can switch between them without starting again. If you leave halfway, Buildly picks the interview up where you stopped the next time you come back.
Some questions offer suggested answers you can tap instead of typing. You can also upload your logo during the chat.
What Juno asks about
The questions cover what a visitor needs to know and what Buildly needs to write well. You will usually be asked about:
- Your business name, and whether you already have a website
- Where else your business is listed online, such as review or social profiles
- What you do, who you do it for, and your main services
- Why customers choose you
- Your phone number, email address and location
- Optional details such as opening hours, years in business and the areas you cover
- Which design you want the site built on
Your own name comes from your account, so Juno does not ask for it. While Juno looks your business up online, the chat shows the sites it is reading.
Starting the build
Once Juno knows your business name, what it does and where it is, a Build my website button appears. You can press it straight away or keep answering - the more you share, the more Buildly has to write from.
Building a site is AI work, so it uses sparks from your organization’s balance. The interview itself does not. See What is a spark? for how that works.
What Buildly does with your answers
- It gets to know your business: if you gave an existing website, it reads it, and it looks your business up online.
- It plans the site from the design you chose, with its pages, sections and forms, and sets up your services.
- It writes every section of every page, plus the text search engines read.
- It chooses photographs for each section.
- It carries your header and footer across every page.
Details you gave Juno always win. If Buildly finds a phone number or email address only on another website, it holds it back until you confirm it, and details it filled in for you are marked so you can check them.
While you wait
After you press the button you land on your new site’s overview, which shows the build as it happens: how many parts are finished, which stage it is on (Writing the words, Choosing photographs, Finishing touches), and each page as it is written. It usually takes a few minutes. You can leave the page - the build carries on, and you get a notification when your site is ready to review.
Next step: review the draft before you publish it.
