Buildly is free while in beta.

What's new in Buildly

The changes to Buildly you would notice - new things you can do, things that got better, and things we fixed - newest first.

  1. New

Switch your site to another design

Choose another design under Appearance and read a plain report of what moves before anything changes. Your words, pages and blog come with you, and anything the new design needs is written for you.

  2. Fixed

Desktop visitors see the desktop layout

Some visitors on a wide screen were shown the phone menu. Each design now styles only its own pages, and the cookie banner draws where it should.

  3. Improved

A calmer interview and build screen

The interview, the screen that shows your site being written, and the search and image screens were redesigned. A site’s pages are now written side by side, so a build finishes sooner.

  4. New

A second sign-in step on every account

After your password, Buildly asks for a code from an authenticator app on your phone. Ten single-use recovery codes keep you in if you ever lose it.

  5. Improved

Team, Settings, Billing and Activity, redesigned

The organization screens were rebuilt so the people on your team, your settings, your support requests, your billing and your activity history are easier to read and to change.

  6. New

Know when a connected tool stops working

Every six hours Buildly re-checks your email sender and the Google IDs you saved, and the Integrations screen shows which ones are working.

  7. New

Google Analytics and Tag Manager, with consent

Save your Google IDs and Buildly adds them to your site, loading them only after a visitor accepts in the cookie banner. Search engine verification codes go on every page.

  8. New

Check your site’s emails against spam filters

From a connected email provider, run a check that scores the messages your forms send the way a spam filter would, with a plain reason and a fix for each finding.

  9. Improved

A domain page that shows each step

Connecting a domain is now four steps you can see - add it, prove it is yours, point it at your site, live with HTTPS - with a guide for the DNS screens of the common providers.

  10. Improved

    Integrations you can recognize

The Integrations screen lists each provider by its logo, with its own setup window.

  11. New

    Connect a domain you own

Add your own domain and Buildly shows the exact records to add, checks what is already on the domain, and flags anything that would stop it connecting.

  12. New

One main address for search engines

Once your own domain is live it becomes the address search engines see. If it ever stops working, your free address takes over by itself until it is back.

  13. New

Report a website that breaks the rules

Anyone can report a site built with Buildly as a scam, harmful, an impersonation or copied work, from the Report abuse page.

  14. New

Click your logo, details or menu to change them

In the editor, click the logo to replace it, click your phone number, address or business name to change it everywhere, and click a menu item to rename that page.

  15. New

Change the picture on any card

Click the photograph on a service, project or blog post card to choose another one.

  16. New

    Picture descriptions, drafted for you

Change a picture and describe it for people using screen readers, or press Write with Juno for a draft you can read and edit before saving.

  17. New

    Publish your site

The Publish button on your site’s overview puts the draft live and keeps a numbered version of what went out.

  18. Improved

Every save tells you it worked

Changes you make in the dashboard now confirm themselves with a short message, or say plainly what went wrong.

  19. New

See when Buildly staff act on your account

If our team suspends, restores or changes something on your organization, a notice appears in your bell and the action shows in your Activity.

  20. New

    Spam protection on your forms

Contact forms on your site are checked by a self-hosted captcha, and you can block a sender or a whole email domain from your leads.

  21. New

Legal pages you write and switch on

Add cookie, refund, accessibility or disclaimer pages alongside privacy and terms. Buildly never writes the legal text: each page stays off until you have written it.

  22. New

Your first blog posts, written with your site

When a new site is built, its blog starts with a few posts written about your business, ready for you to edit or remove.

  23. New

Edit words on the real page

Open a page, click any text and change it where it sits. Ask Juno for a rewrite, hide a section, or point a button somewhere else, with Undo for every change.

  24. New

Choose your design’s colors and fonts

Each design offers color sets, font pairs, corner styles and spacing. Pick yours under Appearance and see it on your draft straight away.

  25. New

Fill in what a build left unwritten

If part of your site was not written, the dashboard says which part and lets you write it again.

  26. Improved

Opening hours and service areas on your site

Your opening hours, years in business, the areas you cover and the contact details from the interview now appear on your site.

  1. New

Choose a design in the interview

Juno shows the designs you can build on, and pressing Build my website writes the site and shows you the draft as it fills in.

  2. New

    Write blog posts, in categories

Write and format posts in a rich-text editor, file them under categories, and each category gets a page of its own.

  3. Fixed

Signing out signs out only this browser

Signing out used to end every session you had. It now ends only the one in front of you, and the list of places you are signed in shows each browser once, with the right name.

  4. New

    Show your own work

Add, edit, hide and remove your own projects, each with your own photographs and a cover you choose.

  5. New

A second design to build on

A warm, photographic design joined the first, with room for every kind of section a site can hold.

  6. New

A logo, if you do not have one

If you have no logo yet, Buildly draws a simple one for your site. Uploading your own always replaces it.

  7. New

    A page for every service

Every service you tell Juno about gets a page of its own, with its own words and a photograph.

  8. Improved

Answer the interview with a tap

Most questions can be answered by pressing an option instead of typing. You can also start over, or download the conversation to read later.

  9. New

    Juno looks your business up

If you are already online, Juno can find your business while you talk and draft answers from it for you to confirm.

  10. New

Your logo, and browser icons made from it

Upload your logo and it goes in your site’s header, with the small icons browsers show in a tab made from it.

  11. New

    A 12-hour or 24-hour clock

Choose whether the dashboard writes times as 2:42 PM or 14:42. It changes only what you see.

  12. Improved

Nothing of Buildly’s on your website

Your site carries only your own name, colors and fonts - none of Buildly’s branding or styles - and it loads lighter as a result.
