Some of what you offer comes as a list: the services you provide, the jobs you have finished, the articles you write. Buildly keeps each of these as a collection. Every item in a collection gets its own page on your site, and a listing page shows them all as cards.
The three collections
- Services - what you do, one page per service
- Projects - work you have finished, each with its own photographs. The Collections screen calls this one Gallery.
- Blog - posts that answer what your customers ask most
The Collections screen shows how many pages each one has on your site. Owners, Admins and Editors can work on them.
Services
Your services are written during the build, from what you told Juno in the interview. To change one, open it in the editor and change its words or pictures there - the change is saved to the service itself, so it shows everywhere that service appears.
Projects
Open Projects from your site’s menu. To add one, choose Add a project and fill in:
- What the job was
- What you did
- Where it was
- Its photographs
You can edit a project later, hide it from your site without deleting it, or remove it altogether. Uploading your photographs is free - see Uploading your own photos.
Blog posts
Open Blog and choose New post. A post has a title, a web address, a summary, a publish date, tags, categories, a cover photo and the post itself. Press Save new post when you are done.
- Posts are listed with the newest publish date first.
- Each post has an on and off switch, so you can take one off your site without losing it.
- Removing a post cannot be undone, so Buildly suggests switching it off instead if you might want it back.
- Your blog page stays hidden from your site until at least one post is switched on.
Not every design has a blog page. If yours does not, the Blog screen says so.
Why collections stay put when you change design
Your services, projects and posts belong to your site, not to its design. When you switch design they come with you unchanged - and Buildly refuses a switch that would leave one of them without a page. See Switching your site to a different design.
