If you use Google’s tools to watch your traffic or how your site appears in search, you can connect them without touching any code. You paste in an ID or a code, and Buildly adds it to your site.
What you can connect
- Google Analytics - enter your Measurement ID
- Google Tag Manager - enter your Container ID
- Google Search Console - enter its Verification code
- Bing Webmaster Tools - enter its Verification code
All four are under Integrations on your site. Only Owners and Admins can connect them.
Proving to Google that the site is yours
- In Google Search Console, add your site as a “URL prefix” property.
- Choose the “HTML tag” way of verifying.
- Copy the tag it shows. In Buildly, open Integrations, choose Google Search Console, and paste either the whole tag or just the long code inside it.
- Choose Save and check, publish your site, then press Verify in Search Console.
Bing Webmaster Tools works the same way.
Checking it works
After you save, the card shows Checking: Buildly looks for the code on your live site once it is published. It then shows Working, or Not found on your site if something is wrong.
Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager need your site to ask visitors about cookies first. If your design cannot do that yet, the card shows Not loading, and switching to a newer design is the fix - see Switching your site to a different design.
You do not need Google Analytics to see your traffic: every site has its own Analytics screen - see Reading your site analytics.
