If you have forgotten your password, you can set a new one from a link sent to your email. If you know it and want to change it, you do that in Settings.
Resetting a forgotten password
- On the sign-in page, choose Forgot your password?
- Enter your email address and choose Send reset link.
- Open the link in the email. On Choose a new password, enter it in New password and Confirm new password, then choose Set new password.
- Sign in with your new password, then your second step as usual.
For your safety, the page says the same thing whether or not an account uses that address, so it cannot be used to find out who has one. If no email arrives, check your spam folder and that you used the address you signed up with.
Reset links work once and expire. If yours has, the page says This link has expired or was already used. - choose Ask for a new link.
Changing your password
- Open Settings and go to Sign-in and security.
- Under Password, enter your Current password, then the new one in New password and New password again.
- Choose Change password.
Changing your password signs you out everywhere else, so anyone who knew the old one loses access.
Choosing a good password
Buildly turns down passwords that are known to have leaked in other companies’ data breaches. A long phrase you do not use anywhere else is best, and a password manager makes that easy.
