The editor shows a page of your site exactly as it looks, and lets you change it by clicking on it. This article covers the controls along the top, how saving works, and the kinds of change you can make.
Opening the editor
Open Pages from your site’s menu and choose a page, or choose Edit this page while you are looking at your draft. Owners, Admins and Editors can change things; Viewers can open the editor and look, but no controls appear.
Along the top
- Back, and Choose a page to move to another page
- Desktop, Tablet and Phone, to see the page at each width (on a wide enough screen)
- Edit and Preview. Preview lets you use the page as a visitor would, links and all
- Sections, a list of the parts of the page you can pick from without pointing - handy with a keyboard
- Business details - see Updating your business details
- Undo
Changing words
- Click a heading or a sentence. A panel opens beside the page.
- Change the text. The page shows your words as you type.
- Press Save to keep the change, or Discard to put it back. Ctrl+Enter (Cmd+Enter on a Mac) also saves.
Nothing is kept until you save. If you would like help with the wording, see Rewriting text with Juno.
Undo
Undo takes back your last saved change on the page. It does not cover words that are shared across your site - a service’s title, a menu name or your business details - because changing those changes them everywhere at once.
Links and buttons
Click a link or button and choose Where it goes: A page on this site, A web address, An email address or A phone number. Then press Save link.
Hiding things
- Click an item and choose Hide this. Choose Show this to bring it back.
- Click a whole section, outside its words, and choose Hide this section.
Parts you cannot change
Some parts belong to the design itself, and the panel says Your design sets this part, so it cannot be changed. To change those, try another design - see Switching your site to a different design.
If your site is live
Once a site is published, what you save appears to visitors straight away. Make a change when you are sure of it, and look at the page afterwards - see Publishing your site.
