A sitemap is a file that lists the pages of your site for search engines. Buildly makes and keeps yours up to date on its own: you never submit it yourself, and there is nothing to regenerate. The Sitemap screen shows what is in it, and lets you leave a page out.
Seeing your sitemap
Open your site and choose Sitemap. Each page is listed with whether it is In the sitemap and when it last changed. Once your site is published, View live sitemap opens the file itself.
Why a page might not be included
- Kept out by you - you chose to leave it out of search
- Hidden page - the page is not shown on your site
- Listed through its items - a page drawn for each service, project or post; the items themselves are listed
- Not a page to search for - thank-you and not-found pages, which visitors are sent to rather than search for
- Nothing to list yet - a listing page with nothing published on it yet
Leaving a page out
- Find the page and choose Leave out.
- Confirm with Leave it out.
Choose Add back to include it again. This is the same switch as the page’s indexing setting on the SEO screen, so the page is also kept out of search results. Anyone with the link can still open it. Owners, Admins and Editors can change this; others see the screen as view only.
